So, here we are in Queensland, the tropical North. Unfortunately the only thing that was tropical was the rain! Every morning, afternoon and night. With the roads closed due to the flooding we set up camp in a fantastic hostel, come hotel, for five days and made the most of the weather.
Including a trip to the Great Barrier Reef with Tusa. As we ventured off into the sea it wasn't long before i realised we were in for a bumby ride. Orginally booked for snorkelling we were offered the chance to dive, with a free introductory 5 minutes followed by, if we opted to, a dive down to the beauty of the reef's bed. Half way through the briefing on diving i had to make my excuses and run to the back of the boat. One filled sick bag later and i was ready for my dive. Jumping in with my tank on my back and my mask secure i felt much better, until a wave wiped me out and the sickness feeling returned. Urgh! Jumping back on the boat i soon realised the only thing i was going to see in the Great Barrier Reef was my sick bags floating across the waters...all five of them! Absolutely gutted - i couldn't even make it in with a snorkel - i just fell asleep. Luckly we all didn't get the sea sickness bug and Kim managed two dives, while Laura ventured out with a snorkel. Sharon stayed with me on the boat with her bag to hand.
I think me and boats better avoid eachother!

Awww poor you! It did make me giggle though... trust you to get sea sickness IN the water!
You obviously need a 'Sea Sickness Wrist Band' for future nautical activities... don't worry, sea sickness "can affect even the most hardy of sailors and can strike at any time."

OR as another site points out it could be what you're eating... lay off those waffles! "Heavy, greasy foods like bacon and eggs, sausage, waffles or pancakes with syrup, alone or combined with acidic juices like orange juice, can wreak havoc on your system and end up recycled as lunch for fishes"
Always happy to help!
